Hi. My name is Meirav and I’m a blogger. I started blogging in 2007 on the soon-to-be-extinct Multiply but later decided to set up home here. My penguin’s name is Quentin. He has been with me virtually since I started blogging.
I blog to let off steam, to express feelings and opinions, to think aloud, to share stuff I’ve learned or even stuff I’m learning about life – all sorts of different reasons. I tried using categories to show which is which, but have given up on that as I was forever needing to invent new ones… I’m just not very good at organising stuff, neither when it comes to the papers on my desk nor when it comes to my blog posts. :)
The subjects I write about vary, but some topics that are very likely to come up are: human nature, communication, relationships; words and languages; creative writing; faith; blogging and social networking; time management.
A bit about me: I’m an Israeli, married to an Englishman and currently living in England. I’m Jewish, and I believe in Jesus. I’ve lived on this planet since 1962. I’m bilingual – grew up speaking both Hebrew and English. I write. I’m a night owl. I have strong procrastination tendencies, but am working on that. I am annoyingly pedantic, and tend to take words very literally. I love reading, especially novels. I like chocolate. I’m an introvert, which means I need lots of solitude and stillness. I have a strong aversion to order and structure. I have a strong tendency to think and to question things and poke holes in stuff I hear or read, especially when it’s presented as seven neat steps to solving all your problems, and even more so if it’s presented as a pretty poster or Powerpoint presentation with fluffy bunnies and pretty flowers and soothing music to lull you into a state of willingness to absorb whatever you’re told.
Welcome to my blog. It’s never boring.

Dear Meirav-
You are such a blessing to me! I have nominated you for the Liebster Award! Blessings to you!
Thank you so much! That’s really kind of you! Such an encouragement!
Meirav…I hope you don’t get too comfortable in Church. They only like pork eating Jews who agree to their “One New Man” theology, which translates as “One New Gentile Man.” Jews who would keep the diet Jesus himself did, insist on Jewish peculiarity and continuity (Apostle Paul hates this), and believe in the past, present and future of our people are unwelcome in most churches…especially, the church of England.
How about you actually take the time to read my posts and find out where I’m at?
This “they” that you’re talking about – that’s not my church.
I’m sorry. I was linked to your site via “replacement theology” blog, and assumed you were thus found by them to be of the same sentiments. A Jewish Christian replacement theologian would rightly be seen as a trophy and big score for them.
How strange. No idea where they might have got that idea from! but hey, if they’re linking to my blog, what can I say… maybe some people will end up visiting and reading my stuff and hearing different :-)
Oh, ok, I checked out my stats and got some clues as to what happened. Looks like I misunderstood you – when you said you were linked to my site via “replacement theology” blog, I thought you were talking about a blog that is called “replacement theology” (and presumably is devoted specifically to that subject); and that they were linking to me as someone who agrees with them. I now see neither is the case.
The way it looks from the stats, you found me through a link which appears on someone else’s blog because I linked to her post on one of mine. That doesn’t mean I agree with each and every word she ever says. This is something you need to understand about the way blogs function, or else you’ll be making lots of wrong assumptions about people.
And I have no idea if that blogger believes in replacement theology or not – this isn’t an issue that she has addressed in any of the posts I’ve read. If she does, then that’s an issue she and I disagree about. You really need to be more careful about jumping to conclusions like this.
This is her entry: http://aubrysmith.com/2012/10/24/pro-israel-is-the-christian-stance/
so what? I don’t think you’re getting it. All that happened is this: you saw a link to my blog on one of Aubry’s posts (not that one) simply because I linked to it in one of my posts – that doesn’t mean I endorse all her views about each and every thing; nor does it mean that I’ve looked into what her views are about each and every thing. You jumped to completely unfounded conclusions about me as a result. I was trying to explain this to you so that you won’t repeat the same mistake with other bloggers. I was not asking you to go look for evidence for me about what Aubry Smith thinks on a particular issue. I’m really not interested in finding out what each and every blogger on this planet thinks about each and every issue, certainly not on an issue that so many disagree about so strongly.
