Good news and bad news

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”

(John 3:36)

It feels very uncomfortable, sharing this verse. It would be so much nicer to just stop after that semicolon – to share only the nice stuff. But you need to know the whole truth – you need to know that Jesus died to save you from the wrath of God, the wrath we all deserve as we’re all sinners!

Our choice is in how we respond to God’s offer of salvation – he is offering us a way out, completely undeserved, not dependent on us doing enough good deeds to measure up, just having the atoning sacrifice of Jesus covering over all our sins once and for all!

Choose wisely. Choose life!

  1. Choose wisely, indeed. In my readings recently, either A.W. Pink or R.C. Sproul, I read about the necessity to include the nasty, ugly bits when preaching and sharing the gospel. People need to understand that they’re not just being saved to something – the pleasure and joy of Heaven, they’re also being save from something – the ugly, nasty bits. Thanks for your posting.
